This unique purpose-built art facility features a spacious art room equipped with artist tables and sinks, a large art resource storage room and two exterior break-out spaces. The precinct is used for art exhibitions, authors and artists in residence, professional development for teacher networks as well as school social events.
The staff art committee structure the curriculum to ensure the children are exposed to a wide and exciting range of art materials to inspire creativity through various media.
The facility boasts wildly colourful and creative artworks with fun and educational floor paintings and several wall sculptures. Renowned outdoor mosaic artist Stephanie Outridge-Field worked with our children to produce a beautiful wall mural to reflect nature and enclose the space. On another of the external walls past year 7 students are remembered through a legacy sculpured piece featuring hand prints.
Biennial Art Show Art curators take note - Rainworth's pupils from all year levels create works throughout the Art Show year in a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, print making, textiles, construction, modelling and carving, electronic imaging and mixed media.
Rainworth's curriculum is enriched by an exceptional visual arts program, the results of our school program and the children's efforts will be on display again in 2010.
